The AQ Recovery Serum is a relatively pain-free treatment that works by applying the gel serum on the patient’s face.  A face stamp with fine spikes of 0.8m is then applied by the plastic surgeon on the areas with gel.  This step is repeated three times during the treatment.

How it works?

The AQ Recovery Serum contain growth factors play an important regulating role in renewing facial tissue and rejuvenating skin.  Growth Factors (GF) are found in many different cell types in the human body.   They are a group of specialised proteins with many functions, the most important being the activation of cellular proliferation and differentiation.  Growth factors turn cellular activities ‘on’ and ‘off’ and they play a role in increasing cell production, cell division, blood vessel production, and collagen and disease.  But GF technology has many other applications, and can also help people achieve a more youthful and vibrant look, and may delay more invasive plastic surgery treatments.

Growth factors are vital to maintain a youthful appearance.  The skin contains multiple growth factors that regulate natural cellular renewal and damage repair processes to keep skin healthy.  These growth factors are responsible for helping to reverse the visible effects of chronological ageing and premature aging due to environmental factors.  The consequence of environmental exposure and the normal process of ageing leads to excessive free radical damage of the skin’s cellular components, resulting in the breakdown of collagen and elastin networks in the dermis and it produces the effect of visible ageing.  This same type of damage eventually impairs growth factor function, so they are less able to repair oxidative damage, and the damage becomes permanent. 

What is the benefits?

How is the procedure?

The treatment will take approximately 20 minutes, and during that time, the doctor will apply the gel serum and stamp all over the face, concentrating on the most problematic areas.  In more severe indications such as acne scars and deep scars and wrinkles, a topical anaesthetic may be applied using a stamp with spikes of 2mm, and the cream will be applied 45 minutes before the treatment.  After the treatment, the patient has to keep the gel on for 12 hours before washing off.

Is there any downtime?

There is no downtime with the treatment, but some patients may be a little red on the face post-treatment which will fade after 1 or 2 hours.  The treatment can be repeated every 3 – 6 months, and in cases with more severe indications every 2 – 3 weeks.

How long will I see the result?

The results may appear after 1 week after the treatment, and the full effect will be noticed 2 – 3 weeks after the treatment.
